Developed as a population centre from San Martin de Unx, in 1212 Beire became administratively independent from it, gaining the title of town an a series of privileges, due to the courage shown by the local volunteers in the battle of Navas de Tolosa.
The King Carlos II awarded in 1378 the viscount of Castelbón, Sir Roger, with the perpetual rule of the town, but later in 1391 Carlos III transferred this privilege to the second lieutenant Carlos de Beaumont. In 1457 the King Juan II conferred the jurisdiction and the other rights of Beire and San Martin de Unx to Bernart de Ezpeleta. This was confirmed by the Princess Leonor in 1474, even though the jurisdiction was excluded. The king Juan III and queen Catalina linked the town to the assets of the Crown in 1510.
